It is beyond beautiful and I would argue one of the finest collections of such natural wonders on the planet. This is incredible!!! It is massive and in reality you could easily spend 3 to 4 hours here appreciating the expanse of desert plants and flowers and sculpture. If you don’t leave five stars you maybe should talk to your therapist. I leave a lot of reviews and have rarely wished to lavish such praise. The attention to detail and the preservation of this arid ecosystem are commendable, and it's an ideal place to reconnect with nature and enjoy a peaceful respite from the bustling city. Whether you're strolling along the well-maintained paths or sitting in one of the shaded areas, you'll find yourself immersed in the serene beauty of the surroundings. The juxtaposition of vibrant desert flowers, towering cacti, and the unique desert landscape creates a captivating visual spectacle. The scenery at the Desert Botanical Garden is nothing short of breathtaking. Plus, the convenience of air-conditioned bathrooms throughout the premises enhances the overall experience. Moreover, the garden ensures visitor comfort with plenty of shaded areas to seek respite from the sun, as well as numerous water fountains equipped with water bottle stations. For instance, if you're more drawn to wildlife, you'll find yourself surrounded by an ample amount of ground squirrels and lizards that add a touch of liveliness to the environment. While the gardens boast a multitude of stunning flora, including a diverse range of cacti and desert plants, there are other attractions to appreciate. The Desert Botanical Garden offers a delightful escape into nature's wonders, even for those who may not have a particular interest in plant life. Overall wonderful place with a wonderful atmosphere! It is more affordable to buy the membership if you plan on going more than once - which would be great to see more! There is so much here, I had to miss areas since I was only there for 2.5 hours. I had to check my water bottle at the front.Įveryone working was very kind, friendly, and helpful! One lady told me that they have live performances most nights of the week. You are not permitted to carry water or any food or drink through the museum. The outdoor area is gorgeous, with covered tables, shaded trees areas, water features and landscaping. ![]() There is a coffee shop and an outdoor area where there was a live performance that day. There are also displays of musical instrument manufacturers, and displays of each kind of instrument. The headphones will link to the videos playing on that display screen, which show a few clips of the music in that region, using the instruments you see on display. One should have poetic skills to describe the beauty.This is a wonderful place, not just for musical instruments, but also history and geography and cultures from around the world.Įach country display has a map where the country is located, and instruments (and costume /dress) used in that location. But the whole drive down offers the most beautiful scenery of green valley, water falls. It’s green, steep winding down road with treacherous hairpin bends. The drive down is totally in contrast to three climb we did from Geiranger. We wanted to go but did not dare because it was cold, we are all above 65 years of age and time constraint. Go on the walk way and you will see stunning scenery of green valley with the road twisting and turning. Because of Bjorn we stopped at number of places and enjoyed getting out of the car to see the beautiful landscape. ![]() You drive through the snow clad, rugged mountains offering very scenic views. The first bend from Geiranger offers such a beautiful view of Geiranger Fjord with the boats sailing in it. He is an experienced driver and knew where to stop to enjoy the best views. We are 8 adults and we were taken on this road by our tour guide Bjorn of Norway Fjord travel in a Mercedes Sprinter. We drove on this road on May 29 from Geiranger. ![]()
